you cant just put the winning bar code on the losing ticket. Each ticket that won has its own individual bar code. There is no universal bar code for $10 to win on the number 2. Every ticket is different, and therefore he would have had to make up his own barcode which wouldnt be recognizable by the machines

This particular trick is achieved by simply putting a winning barcode on a losing ticket. I've seen it done elsewhere, without the performer claiming it was done with psychology!

I was going to say lol! If this system worked then Derren Brown could have made 100 times whatever they pay him to make a TV show by ripping off bookies. Cashing in on losing tickets would be like a licence to print money.
